Joining the Executive Committee of Warwick BioSoc is a great way to give back to the society and community you've been a part of. It's a fantastic opportunity to make friends and learn new skills, while developing your leadership, decision-making and organisational skills—all important qualities for your CV and future workplace.

As a Warwick Students' Union-affiliated society, we are bound by the SU's rules and regulations, which require us to hold elections for our Executive Committee at the end of Term 2 each academic year (usually around March). Those elected to their roles will carry out their responsibilities for the following 12 months.

To join the Executive Committee, you need to have been a member of BioSoc for at least two weeks prior to the election. During the election, you'll be required to nominate yourself via the SU website and deliver a three-minute speech explaining why you would be a good fit for the role. This will be followed by a week of voting, during which any BioSoc member can vote for their preferred candidates.

In the 2026 election, many of our roles were competitive, so preparing a good speech in advance and being an active member of the society before the election is highly recommended. You can read more about the SU election process below.
