Joining the Executive Committee of Warwick BioSoc is a great way to give back to the society and community you've been a part of. It's a great way to make friends and learn new skills, as well as an opportunity to develop leadership, decision-making and organisational skills; all important traits for your CV and the workplace.

As a Warwick Students' Union-affiliated society, we are bound by the SU's rules and regulations, which require us to hold elections for our Executive Committee at the end of Term 2 each academic year (usually around March). Those who are elected into their roles will carry out their role for the following 12 months.

To be on the Executive Committee, you need to have been a member of BioSoc for at least two weeks prior to the election. During the election, you'll be required to nominate yourself via the SU website and then give a three-minute speech on why you would be a good fit for the role. This will be followed by a week of voting, where any BioSoc member can vote for who they want.

In the 2026 election, many of our roles were competitive, so preparing a good speech in advance and being an active member of the society prior to the election is recommended. You can read more about the SU election process below.
