BioMentor Program
The society offers a mentorship program in which we match incoming first-year students with second- and third-year mentors who share similar interests and degree streams. Mentors are available throughout the academic year to provide advice and guidance on anything, such as module selection, coursework, or settling into university life. Becoming a mentor in your second or third year also comes with HEAR accreditation, providing valuable training and recognition that can help strengthen your CV.

The BioMentee scheme pairs you with a second or third-year student who can offer guidance, support and advice throughout your first year at Warwick. Whether you have questions about your course, university life, or just need someone who’s been through it before, having a BioMentor is a great support scheme for Life Science students at Warwick.

Hello, my name is Anouk
Adjusting to university is a different experience for everyone, and it is normal to face challenges as the new year starts. For this reason, BioSoc runs a yearly Biomentor Programme, where first year students are given the opportunity to have a biomentor- a student from second or third year who is also a part of the School of Life Sciences. The process works by pairing biomentors with mentees, based on course and shared interests at the beginning of the year, when university can be the most daunting!
Mentors are there to provide first-hand advice and guidance that comes from their experiences in their previous years at Warwick! This can involve a wide variety of things, ranging from academics, such as lectures and assignments, to the more social aspects of university. This is a great opportunity to get support in your first year at Warwick, as well as get more involved with BioSoc!
